Drop a Coin
An older song revamp, it was inspired by looking through the Classified section of a newspaper one day. I found it amazing how specific some people were with what they were looking for in another person or companion. At the core of it all, there was this underlying yearning simply to be loved by someone.
lyrics
“Drop a Coin” by Matthew Santos
I’m replying to a personal/saw in the paper.
Said you’re looking for a special friend.
You need someone quite particular/for a partner.
Someone your heart can comprehend.
Now I’m replying to a personal/saw in the paper.
Said you’re looking for a one-night stand.
You don’t want nobody personal/or lovable,
Just a body to get off on.
You can drop a coin in me
Choose who you want me to be.
And I will do my very best,
To be whatever makes you happy.
Said you can drop a coin in me
Choose who you want me to be.
And I will do my very best,
For no one likes to be lonely.
Well I’m replying to a personal/saw in the paper.
Said you’re looking for your father.
For there’s a love that he gave to you/or neglected to.
There’s a love that you’ve been after.
Repeat chorus
